KPI Metrics Development Strategy for Document Management - Benchmarking National and International Projects in a corporate environment

Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) is a type of technology that creates digital models of buildings and project sites. Architects, engineers, and contractors use VDC models to visualize and plan building designs, processes, schedules, budgets, and more. The KPI for benchmarking document management/information exchange in construction projects required to formulate to provide AEC professionals with a holistic, quantitative, practical and adaptive approach to evaluate and track VDC performance at Construction stage. The metrics will cover the four major Areas of VDC Planning, Adoption, Technology and Performance, and the overall measurement on a percentage scale that reflects the project performance relative to the industry’s practice. As current research is primarily based on case-studies and anecdotal findings, data-based understand of VDC for document management and information exchange performance and related factors is a major drawback
