Taking inspiration from the Japanese paper folding technique, ‘origami’, the structure is designed in the form of a simple but complicated geometric shape, pentagon. After making and testing different models, the desired results for utilization ratio and deflection in the structure was attained. Addition of trusses, purlins and a beam, acting as the central support of the the structure multiplied the stability and strength of the system. Curved columns were added in the design along with the straight ones to increase the value of the structure with regards to aesthetics.
