Through a foundation design pedagogy, the studio aimed to provide an insight into the details of Geotechnical Engineering. To gain a basic understanding of the subject, several topics were studied. After that, a site visit to Matoda was made, where a borehole was dug and the samples were collected. The samples were tested in the lab, and the data was used to design an overhead water tank that could handle various loads. For the structure, suitable foundation systems such as Isolated, Raft, and Pile were chosen. The pedagogy also covered soil improvement techniques.
