The project given help understand the concepts of thermodynamics. These concepts aid in the understanding of results of experiments and measurements that are done later. All of this, in turn, helps in the assessment of buildings in terms of energy performance, and the different ways to improve it. Many different systems like passive downdraft evaporative cooling systems (PDEC), daylighting systems (Solar tubes), shading devices (chajja and vertical fins), variable refrigerant cooling (VRV) system, etc can be optimised for more energy efficient building. Also, systems like Integrated Photo Voltaic Cells (PV Cells) can be used for making a building net zero.
