The total length of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase-1 is 40.03km, of which 6.35km is underground and the rest 33.68km is elevated. The project will connect the whole of the city of Ahmedabad through 2 corridors, (East-West and North-South) having 32 stations. Client of this project is GMRC (Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation) and project family tree is divided into different contractors and consultants. Work package location was UG2 having length 4.1km starting from Kalupur Launching Shaft to Shahpur Station whose contractor was Larsen & Toubro Limited. It was Lump sum contract with form of Engineering Procurement and Construction mode.
