OMKAR: Dhobighat is a rehabilitation project that will house the present residents of the iconic dhobighat area which is also the world’s largest open-air laundromat. The operation of choosing the developer for this project was overseen by the Slum Rehabilitation Authority wherein they carried out a secret ballot where all the eligible slum dwellers were asked to vote for a developer of their choice. OMKAR Realtors won the election by a majority where over 90% of the slum dwellers opted to vote for them and thus were awarded this project. This project once completed will house nearly 2000 families amounting to over 8000 residents. Besides this project another residential project is also under construction which is a Joint Venture between OMKAR Realtors and Piramal Group. This whole facelift operation of Dhobighat is a joint venture worth 3000 Crores between Omkar Realtors and Piramal group.
