Comparison of Moment resisting frames and dual system.

According to dual system a moment resisting frame must be capable of resisting 25% of the lateral load independently. Hence concept of enhanced base shear is to be used in the structure. That is, These lateral forces are applied in the new model and then the % of base shear for moment resisting frame is calculated. After using the enhanced base shear, the moment resisting frame is designed as per the design forces. .The shear wall will be Capable of taking more than 75% of lateral loading Frame is also made capable for carrying 25% lateral load as per the code .
