The studio emphasises designing based on the context, deriving concepts from the surrounding environment. This discourse centre, with galleries, a quiet space and amphitheatre, encouraged students to follow a concept through from abstraction to the final stages. Drawing from the Old city beyond the fort wall, the fabric of pol houses inspires an open plan, using a configuration of walls, columns and plinths, of brick and stone to create the intervention.
