MEANDERING HETEROGENEITY

Given Ahmedabad’s growing influx of students each year, the need for quality housing is more critical than ever. This project envisions a forest-like escape within the city, blending living spaces with nature to create a calming, immersive environment. The design emphasizes dense greenery — ground lawns, native trees, and facade creepers — allowing small species to move freely across the site, enhancing everyday life with natural rhythms. A central well anchors the space, supporting passive cooling and creating a communal gathering point, while each unit features a water facade for evaporative cooling and sensory richness. Paths are organic and meandering, offering varied spaces for study and relaxation. Rain- water harvesting, porous surfaces, and native planting ensure environmental sustainability, making the project not just housing, but a living, breathing ecosystem for users.
