Reading, Revealing, Retrofitting

This project engages with Raj Rewal’s CIDCO Housing in Belapur through a conservation approach focused on continuity, adaptation, and spatial care. The housing is read as a structured yet evolving framework — defined by its porosity, thresholds, and balance of built and unbuilt space. Guided by observation and precise intervention, the design responds to shifts in use, density, and access. Otlas are extended, circulation is clarified, and domestic edges are supported without disrupting the architectural rhythm. The project works within the existing grain to strengthen livability, support shared routines, and allow the housing to grow with its residents over time.
