Concridge is a highway rest stop in Ahmedabad which uses climate responsive strategies to provide a refreshing experience for its users by responding to local climatic conditions. The building focuses on the concept of self shading facades to optimize solar heat gain and natural daylighting. The sloping roof is placed away from the direction of the sun, helping the sloping facades to keep the building cool by minimising direct sunlight. The presence of a water body in the prominent wind direction leverages evaporative cooling, and thus all the strategies come together to enhance the experience of the user.
