Lamina Studio is a timber workshop within the City Youth Centre, designed to bridge traditional craftsmanship with contemporary digital making. The structural system incorporates flitch members, composite steel-and-timber elements, strategically deployed in both the bearing and spanning systems to balance strength with warmth and express a hybrid construction logic. It includes modular workstations to support a wide range of making activities from traditional carpentry and lathe turning to advanced CNC routing and model-making studios. Lamina Studio embodies the ethos of the Youth Centre: a space for experimentation, education, and architectural expression through making.
