This research investigates the historic port town of Bhadreshwar on the western coast of India through the lens of memory, continuity, and architectural typology. Drawing from Aldo Rossi’s theory of urban artifacts and Pierre Nora’s concept of lieux de mémoire, the study examines how built forms—temples, mosques, stepwells, and marketplaces—act as carriers of collective memory shaped by trade, migration, and faith. Through archival research, mapping, and facade analysis, the project explores how Bhadreshwar's layered urban fabric reflects socio-cultural resilience across centuries of transformation.
