Bidar is a place of many cultures, and Sufism is one of them. This project, based in Bidar, explores the social and cultural impact of Sufism by treating the dargah as an archive. It looks beyond physical evidence like buildings or inscriptions, focusing on people’s practices and the meanings they attach to the dargah. The research is place-based and works closely with local communities. Using visual ethnography and oral history, it creates micro outputs: a photobook showing cultural practices, a visual essay on the dargah’s space and stories, and an exegesis explaining the research process and findings.
