Bidar’s water structures—stepwells, tanks, and kunds—reflect responses to its semi-arid climate. This study documents six such bawdis, focusing on their architectural features and oral narratives that reveal past and present relationships with communities. Existing literature on these structures is scarce, and most remain undocumented. Without attention, they risk neglect. Through photographs, drawings, and conversations with locals, the study gathers insights into how these spaces were used, remembered, or adapted. Oral narratives anchor the research, helping assess how stories align with architectural features and settlement patterns. The goal is to inform future conservation and spread awareness through accessible, alternative means of dissemination.
