Staging the City: Gender, Power, and Ritual Movement in Patan’s Ghode Jatra:As a festival deeply rooted in myth, ritual, and communal participation, Ghode Jatra provides a compelling lens through which to examine how performative traditions animate and transform urban space. Through ethnographic fieldwork, photographic comparisons, and community interviews, this research explores the spatial choreography of the festival and its broader socio-political implications, revealing how ritual performance “makes place” by materialising identity, authority, and belonging within the contemporary urban fabric.
