The primary objective of this thesis is to simulate and compare the thermal performance of kinetic and static facades in commercial buildings located in hot and dry climatic regions, using Ahmedabad as the case study context. Through quantitative analysis using 3D modeling and advanced energy simulation tools like EnergyPlus and ClimateStudio, the research aims to evaluate how different facade systems perform in terms of heat gain reduction, passive cooling enhancement, and overall energy efficiency. Additionally, the study draws insights from built case studies, exploring real-world applications of kinetic and static facades to understand their performance, feasibility, and maintenance considerations.
