Breathable Homes, Moving Lives

Imagined through the eyes of a 7-year-old buffalo, this project reinterprets the seasonal lifestyle of the Maldhari herders. The design includes a monsoon settlement—durable, breathable, and rooted in traditional materials—and a portable shelter that can be dismantled and transported during migration. Both structures must accommodate livestock, withstand climatic challenges, reflect the community’s cultural values, and respond to the rhythms of nomadic life. Their essence unfolds through the footsteps of a sheep—across cracked earth, rain-soaked trails, and resting grounds—its journey weaving a visual tale of movement, memory, and shelter, illustrated as a narrative on the final sheet.
