Dhoro Upara : A Haven Atop a Mound

Responding to the seasonal and mobile nature of Maldhari existence, the design unfolds in two distinct yet interconnected scenarios: a dwelling for the monsoon and a shelter for their travels. The monsoon settlement, set atop a mound beside Alavani River, evolves gradually, pockets of spaces forming over time, unified beneath a single roof. In contrast, the travelling shelter is reduced to its essence, with the khatla, a key object carried on the move, anchoring a minimal roof that offers refuge along the journey. These two scenarios, imagined through the perspective of a year-old goat kid, shapes the final composition.
