The Land Remembers

This project envisions a dynamic, multi-generational neighborhood park that intricately weaves local cultural heritage into its landscape, fostering intercommunity bonding through flexible, adaptable spaces. The design prioritizes intangible heritage, utilizing sensory experiences like soundscapes reflecting historical narratives, aromatic plantings reminiscent of traditional flora, and tactile pathways mirroring historical routes. Multifunctional zones, including a modular performance area, interactive storytelling gardens, and adaptable open spaces, cater to diverse age groups and evolving community needs. The park’s kit-of-parts, comprising modular elements, ensures seamless integration with other sites across the area, creating a cohesive network. Accessible pathways, shaded gathering spaces, and age-appropriate play areas promote inclusivity, while the landscape design, through its evolving layers, honors the past, celebrates the present, and cultivates a vibrant, shared future.
