This project reimagines slum rehabilitation by shifting from displacement to re-placement—socially, economically, and spatially. It challenges conventional approaches that isolate communities in poorly designed housing, instead proposing human-centric, culturally responsive design. Set in Mahul, Mumbai—a site symbolic of failed government housing—the proposal integrates public spaces, community plazas, local markets, and a permeable street network to support informal economies and social interaction. Housing clusters are designed for natural ventilation and daylight, promoting healthier living. At an urban scale, the masterplan blends residential, commercial, and communal uses, creating a self-sustaining ecosystem that restores dignity, identity, and opportunity for marginalized communities
