Re-weaving lives in Slums | Gulbai Tekra, Ahmedabad

Set in Ahmedabad’s Gulbai Tekra precinct, this project envisions an in-situ slum rehabilitation model that integrates live-work housing, vibrant public spaces, and green networks to support a self-sustaining artisan community. Rooted in participatory urban design, the proposal emphasizes inclusive planning, pedestrian-friendly access, and economic resilience while preserving cultural identity and existing site features like trees and shrines. With over 1,200 new housing units, the masterplan reimagines slums as productive assets within the city’s evolving urban fabric.
