VEINS OF LIGHT : UNFOLDING THE ESSENCE OF INDOLOGY

The Institute of Indology is envisioned as a contemplative retreat where scholars, artists, and thinkers engage with Indic traditions through exploration and exchange. Designed as a monolithic concrete form, the building stands boldly in its context while offering a layered, inward spatial journey. Entry is deliberate—through a single reception reached by circling the structure—heightening curiosity and discovery. Open-to-sky courtyards anchor light and interaction, while a central corridor connects key spaces: exhibition, library, workshops, dwellings, dining, and lecture areas. Each room is uniquely lit through roof apertures, creating distinct atmospheres that invite reflection, dialogue, and a deep sense of place.
