Conceived as a contemporary atelier, this project reinterprets the makerspace typology through an architectural lens sensitive to Rome’s urban fabric. By incorporating terracing, modular workstations, and integrated seating, the space fosters a plaza-like atmosphere that encourages both individual craftsmanship and spontaneous collaboration. The design prioritizes fluid movement between creation, observation, and interaction, drawing inspiration from Italian public squares. This layout allows for openness and adaptability while serving a clear purpose as a creative hub. The makerspace aims to be a community-oriented environment, where users can engage with the space and one another, facilitating innovation and skill development. An enclosed, transparent observation area allows visitors to watch a robotic arm in action, providing an immersive view of the plastic sculpture-making process. This interaction between the public and the creative process enhances the overall experience, making the makerspace a dynamic and engaging destination for both makers and observers alike.
