This project reinterprets commercial architecture by creating an experiential, playful environment tailored for gamers. It transforms the act of shopping from a transactional routine into an immersive, game-like adventure. The design process began with everyday household objects—abstracted and recomposed into formal studies that informed spatial compositions, detailing, and eventually representation. These explorations established a consistent design logic, scaling from object to architectural expression.
Hovering above the vibrant chaos of Tokyo’s iconic Shibuya Square, the proposal manifests as a gamified retail centre for video games and cutting-edge technology. In contrast to the district’s densely layered, advertisement-heavy facades, the building asserts its own identity through its stark white envelope. Strategically placed glass apertures reveal glimpses of the animated interior, turning the inner world into a living advertisement—one that invites curiosity and engagement rather than visual noise.
