Lines etched by water

Lines etched by water an assemblage of square bays, constructed from timber elements that have been carefully moulded to express the qualities of flowing water. This expression is evident in both the roof and the columns, which appear to stream fluidly from above and converge with the ground. The structure makes optimum use of water during construction and is designed to give back to the environment through rainwater harvesting. The roof plays a crucial role in this process, as the twisted timber elements are geometrically oriented to channel rainwater along their surfaces and down into the ground. This system not only demonstrates water collection but transforms the act of harvesting into an architectural experience, where the user can visually track the flow and quantity of water during rainfall. When it is not raining, the same roof and walls cast dynamic, layered shadows that evoke the presence of water through light and form, immersing the user in an ambient sense of fluidity and motion.
