Confluence of People and Place

This project explores the design of two distinct public spaces — a neighbourhood street in Vasna and a lakefront in Vastrapur — with a shared goal of enhancing everyday public life. In Vasna, the focus is on understanding the overlaps of street activities and activating underused areas through context-specific functions to create a more inclusive and engaging public realm. In Vastrapur, the aim is to design an inviting lakefront that encourages interaction with both nature and a variety of programmes, transforming the edge into a space for leisure, connection, and ecological experience. Together, both designs emphasise the importance of contextual responses, multifunctionality, and spatial quality in shaping meaningful public spaces.
