Urban Knots: Connecting the Clusters of Activities

The project explores how diverse activity clusters can be interlinked to create vibrant public spaces. Working with two contrasting sites—Vastrapur Lake (spacious, open) and Vasna (narrow, linear)—the project activates edges, anchor points, and public paths. Interventions include vendor-friendly spots, seating zones, play areas for children, and senior-friendly kinesthetic parks. By designing "knots" where people naturally gather, the project promotes interaction across age groups and activities. These knots are connected to form a continuous, engaging urban fabric, encouraging coexistence, inclusion, and everyday liveliness in both expansive and constrained urban settings.
