Market Weaves

Reimagining Market Spaces through inclusive integration of formal and informal vending within accessible and context-sensitive public spaces. The 90m by 65m Municipal Market site at CG Road, Ahmedabad, is envisioned as an inclusive and vibrant urban space that goes beyond commerce. The design thoughtfully merges formal shops with informal vending, inspired by the rhythm of traditional Indian bazaars. Organized in a grid like layout, the blocks comprises of commercial as well as food joints frame a central public space which serves as a pause point and provides visual connectivity throughout .Shaded walkways with vendor carts enhance pedestrian movement and visual connectivity. Peripheral parking, ramps, and loading zones ensure smooth access. The proposal balances accessibility, culture, and flexibility ,transforming the market into a shared space for all.
