PublicTransport Strategy for UrbanGrowth:Linking Transit

Strategic Transport Plan for Surat- address current mobility challenges and meet future travel demands. It analyzes spatial growth, land use, demographics, and the existing public transport network, identifying gaps through surveys and data-driven assessments. It also identifies high-demand rapid transit corridors such as Kamrej–Palsana, Pal–Hazira, and Udhana–Sachin, aligning them with emerging employment zones and urban growth centers. Using trip demand modeling, model calibration, and scenario planning, the plan proposes a rapid transit system followed by identification of interchanges. It incorporates literature study of Motor Vehicle Act, addresses governance gaps, and evaluates user perceptions on fare, reliability, and connectivity.
