Regulating IPTs in Surat

The studio aims to develop a strategic transportation plan for Surat city, envisioning the year 2047. This project focuses on enhancing Intermediate Public Transport (IPT) through interventions that prioritize safety, ensure seamless connectivity, optimize service delivery, and advance environmental sustainability. The approach is structured around three key objectives: Respond (immediate actions), Prevent (short-term strategies), and Prepare (long-term planning). Proposed measures include streamlining permit regulations, standardizing fare structures, phasing out outdated vehicles, and accelerating the transition to an electrified IPT fleet to foster a more efficient and eco-friendly urban transport system.
