Road Network Structure and Public Transportation Systems

This project critically assesses Surat’s existing road network and public transport systems as part of a strategic urban transport planning exercise. Anchored in a long-term vision for 2047, it identifies current challenges in connectivity, modal share, and infrastructure. Alternative scenarios combining transport and land use strategies are developed and evaluated to guide sustainable urban mobility. The project emphasizes improving public transport through electrification, integration, and accessibility, proposing actionable interventions aligned with the city’s evolving needs and future growth.
