Strategic Plan for Public Transport System - SURAT

As part of the Master of Urban Transport Systems program at CEPT University (Spring 2025), this studio project focused on sustainable, inclusive transport solutions for Surat with a 2047 vision. Addressing challenges like poor connectivity, low public transport share, and fragmented infrastructure, the project combined land use and mobility strategies through scenario-based planning. Key proposals included phased fleet electrification, service rationalization, multimodal integration, and improved first/last-mile connectivity. All interventions aligned with Vision NIRMAN—Navigating mobility that is Inclusive, Resilient, Multimodal, Accessible, and Next-Gen—to enable an efficient, equitable, and sustainable urban mobility future for Surat.
