Interlude- or midway place is envisioned as a vibrant urban promenade that serves as a cultural and social anchor for the community, while offering a moment of calm amidst the city’s energy. Designed as a third place- a welcoming public space beyond home and work- it invites people to pause, gather, and interact in an atmosphere of comfort and ease. It is also envisioned as an Olympic-Ready inviting street along with a strong sense of cultural belongingness.
The entire stretch has a continuous pedestrian pathway, punctuated by shaded seating, trees, and gathering spots. A compact junction design improves safety, while carefully integrated bus stops and auto stands ensure last-mile connectivity for all. A median cycle track threads through the street, promoting green mobility and linking key destinations. Two complementary activity zones on the street include a high-energy Olympic activation zone with multipurpose sport courts and interactive play areas & a quieter community-oriented temple plaza to promote the third plaza concept.
