Bhopal 2047- Integrated Decentralization

This development plan for Bhopal envisions a sustainable, resilient, and inclusive urban future through the concept of Integrated Decentralization.
Aiming to address the city's spatial, infrastructural, and socio-economic challenges, the plan promotes a polycentric urban structure by strengthening secondary nodes, enhancing last-mile connectivity, and redistributing economic, institutional, and residential functions beyond the city core.
By focusing on equitable access to services, improved mobility networks, ecological conservation, affordable housing, and infrastructure upgrades in peri-urban areas, the proposal integrates land use and transport planning to reduce congestion, environmental stress, and urban sprawl.
The plan also incorporates community-driven strategies, transit-oriented development (TOD), and zoning reforms to foster compact, walkable neighborhoods that enhance livability and reduce dependency on central Bhopal.
