Design of a Bow String Arch Bridge

The goal of the bridge design studio was to look into various types of bridges, as well as their components and loadings, before designing and detailing them. A Bow String Arch Bridge was analyzed and designed as part of the studio, with a span of 60 meters (EJ to EJ) and a total carriageway width of 12 meters to accommodate three traffic lanes. The Super Structure, Substructure, and Open Foundation are analyzed for all necessary loads on the respective components of the Bridge as per IRC 6 and designed according to IRC 112, IRC 24, and IRC 78.
