This bridge design studio focused on understanding the principles of bridge engineering, with an emphasis on different bridge types, their components, and load considerations. As part of the coursework, a 36-meter span composite girder bridge with a 12-meter-wide carriageway was analyzed and designed to accommodate three traffic lanes. The project involved detailed analysis of the superstructure, substructure, and open foundation under various load combinations as per IRC 6. All structural components were designed in accordance with relevant IRC codes, including IRC 112, IRC 24, IRC 22, and IRC 78, ensuring structural safety, durability, and serviceability.
