DESIGN TWO SPAN CONTINUOUS PSC VOIDED SLAB

This studio's primary objective is to grasp design concepts through a blend of theoretical and practical approaches, analyzing and designing a bridge structure in accordance with Indian Road Congress (IRC) codes. The project involved a literature review, local site visits to understand bridge types and characteristics, and creating a line diagram model using Staad.Pro software for static checks. A prestressed concrete slab was designed, including cable arrangement, loss calculations, and stress checks. Further, a grillage model was prepared for diaphragm design as per IRC 112, followed by serviceability checks. The project also encompassed designing pier caps, piers, and open foundations, considering various loads and IRC codes, including P-M interaction curves, slenderness checks, and confinement reinforcement design. Ultimately open foundation design by checking one way shear and punching shear.
