PRETENSION U-GIRDER WITH RECT. PIER & OPEN FOUNDATION

This project involves the design of a 24-meter span pretensioned U-Girder bridge in Jaipur, supported on rectangular piers with open (slope) foundations. The design considers regional conditions such as Seismic Zone II classification and high wind velocities. A detailed analysis was conducted using grillage modeling in STAAD, accounting for construction stages and various load effects. Key aspects include girder flexure and shear design, strand profiling with initial prestress loss assumptions, and stress checks under different loading scenarios. The substructure—including pier cap, pier, and foundation—was designed for strength, serviceability, and stability, ensuring a safe and durable bridge structure.
