RCC BOX GIRDER WITH CURVATURE

The project involves the analysis and design of a reinforced cement concrete (RCC) box girder bridge with a horizontal curvature in plan. The bridge features rectangular piers supported on open foundations. The selected site for the bridge is Bhuj, which falls under Seismic Zone V and is subject to a basic wind speed of 50 m/s. The project commenced with the preparation of the General Arrangement Drawing (GAD), wherein initial assumptions for member sizes were made. The superstructure was analyzed and designed using the grillage method in STAAD.Pro. The entire analysis and design process adhered to the relevant provisions of the Indian Roads Congress (IRC) codes.  The design focused on ensuring structural safety, stability & serviceability under all considered loading conditions.
