Daylighting is vital in libraries as it promotes a healthier, more inviting, and engaging learning environment. This study compares daylight strategies in two Ahmedabad libraries: the Vikram Sarabhai Library at IIM and the Lilavati Lalbhai Library at CEPT. Using Rhino-Climate Studio and Grasshopper, key metrics like DA, UDI, sDA, and DGP were simulated. Surveys informed user experience, while ECBC and CIBSE standards guided accuracy. The study explores how controlled openings and adjustable fins influence daylight. Findings suggest that external shading, high VLT glazing, and responsive lighting controls can enhance comfort, reduce energy use, and meet illumination standards effectively.
