Market Analysis For Personal Environmental Comfort Systems
Personal Environmental Comfort Systems (PECS) enable individuals to have control over their local environment, to satisfy personal thermal needs while maintaining a higher ambient setpoint. This study focuses on evaluating the PECS available in the market based on their suitability across various climatic zones, with an emphasis on convective and radiative systems. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis will be conducted to examine the airflow and air temperature distribution to assess the system efficiency, and adaptability to outdoor environmental conditions. As a result, a hybrid system combining PECS and background HVAC systems for the ambient will be designed, tailored to each climate. This analysis will be developed into a comprehensive manual to document the performance, features, and suitability of various PECS available in the market for specific climatic zones. This resource will guide stakeholders in selecting efficient and cost-effective solutions to enhance occupant comfort across different climate zones.
