Effective equipment management is vital for successful construction project execution, impacting timelines, cost, and productivity. However, challenges such as high idle times and inefficient on-site equipment tracking hinder stakeholder access to crucial data. This research proposes a solution by integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) with a consortium blockchain to create a conceptual model for smarter equipment management. IoT sensors enable real-time data collection, while blockchain ensures data security, transparency, and automation via smart contracts. The proposed BlockIoT framework aims to minimize idle time, boost utilization, and support informed decision-making, offering a scalable and secure approach for modern construction management.
