Review and multi criteria evaluation of expanded polystyrene core panel system in buildings and infrastructure in India
EPS Core concrete sandwich panels are a technology that has multiple benefits in terms of performance, time and costs. EPS Concrete technology has shown particularly high potential for applications in affordable housing segments although there are other applications as well. EPS Concrete Technology has received particular attention and recognition from BMTPC and similar national authorities who are making efforts to promote it. This research project is being initiated with an aim to review and capture theoretical and practical aspects of the technology in qualitative and quantitative parameters, and thus bringing out two aspects (a) Evaluation of the technology in terms of cost, time, resources and performance (b) Comparison of this technology with alternative technologies to bring out the benefits or the gaps to be addressed in adoption.
