The “Himalayan Cities: Slicing Kathmandu” aims at unearthing the relationship of a Himalayan city through time with its immediate and imagined landscape. Kathmandu city in Nepal has layers of history: from Buddhist Lichavi to medieval period dominated by Malla kings and thereafter by the Shahs and Ranas. In the modern period the city has experienced the global culture with architects from around the Globe working in the city.
