The first semester focused on developing drawing and representation skills. Continuing in a similar vein, during the second semester, the CFP Studio component focuses on building analytical abilities. Exercises like mapping and data representation engage with on-ground reality, requiring that the students develop their ability to observe, collect data and analyse it, as well as communicate and represent it meaningfully; building elements and materials allows for initial familiarization with these, theoretically as well as through observation of built spaces around; while making and testing structures uses hands-on experience to enable conceptual understanding. Technical drawing II builds on the skills imbibed initially and develops them towards further complexity. All the exercises find their culmination in tackling a design problem, which brings together the skills and abilities while introducing the students for the first time to the design process. These skills will be put to use during L2 studios, and will be discussed in their relevance to the professional practice that designers, architects and urban planners engage in.

After analysing various climatic factors such as the sun path, wind direction, trees on site and topographic factors using the contour model, a site was decided to build the shelter for a potter.

These are the drafted plans and sections of the shelter and studio space designed for the potter. The surrounding trees have been used in an efficient way possible without damaging them.

These are the conceptual sketches and study diagrams made to understand the distribution of load and how the structure can take the maximum load without wastage of material.

These images show the different types of joineries the model has which also plays a key role in supporting the structure.

These are the hand drafted plans, sections and elevation of the student's residence where technical details such as the sunken slab, lintel beam, staircases and many such details have been represented.

A representation drawing of a section of the student's residence has been made showing human activities.

Identification of various elements- load bearing and non load bearing is done along with understanding their respective functions using different wall sections. From the understanding developed, a wall section of the student's residence has been made.

A map of student's neighbourhood is developed depicting various places having a personal connection. It has been represented such that it acts as a non-verbal summary of what the neighbourhood is all about.

This is the digital model of Tadao Ando's 4 By 4 House made to learn and get a better grip over the softwares. A few miscellaneous exercise which helped in learning the software have also been shown.

Step by step process of how a composition of solids got developed into a imaginative cityscape in space is shown here.
