Foundation Studio (II), within the CEPT Foundation Programme continues to build upon the skills acquired during the first semester, adding abilities to use digital media in representation; to make models; to understand the assembly of built form through its building elements, materials and structures; to be able to draft architectural and topographical drawings: and eventually leads to bringing the skills and abilities together to tackle a design problem.

Analysis of Jaisalmer site c (contours, climate, trees, sun path, winds) to design a workspace for leather craftsmen.

Anthropometry study helped to derive the area required for each space.

Plan of the workspace named Prakriti.

The above sheet shows an isometric view, elevation and the wall section. The elevation depicts the rubble masonry as well as the brick vault used for the roof.

The contour and the mass model helped to analyze the site. On the right is the final model which shows what the designed space looks like.

The teachings at the workshop were represented in the form of sketches and texts.

Making and Testing Structures: Through this exercise, the stability, tensile strength, weak points, etc. of various structures were understood.
