Foundation Studio (II), within the CEPT Foundation Programme continues to build upon the skills acquired during the first semester, adding abilities to use digital media in representation; to make models; to understand the assembly of built form through its building elements, materials and structures; to be able to draft architectural and topographical drawings: and eventually leads to bringing the skills and abilities together to tackle a design problem.

Plan and sections of Tube House

Vertical tower made of reed sticks. It helped in understanding buckling, bending moment and breaking of a structure made of columns and beams

A sturdy cube was made using wood blocks, metal sheet and metal rod using different types of joineries

A trip to Hunnarshala where we learnt various construction techniques and teamwork skills

Plan for a Bamboo Artisan's workplace. The main spaces (Display and workspace) are placed together and the smaller ones (Toilet, pantry and resting space) are arranged near each other. This shows the importance of different spaces.
