After focusing on developing drawing and representation skills in first semester, during the second semester, the CFP Studio component focuses on building analytical abilities with exercises like mapping and data representation, buidling elements and materials, making and testing structures, technical drawing II and tackling a design problem. These skills will be put to use during L2 studios, and will be discussed in their relevance to the professional practice that designers, architects and urban planners engage in.

in the structures assignment, we were to make a spanning bridge to hold weight , we did ideations according to it, managed to add cross bracings, and took the idea of piling up three reed sticks, and threaded them together using grooves and then after testing the strength of one member we added inner supports to the whole structure and the final bridge was made along with base.

In the exercise, joining elements we first explore different kind of joineries between different kind of materials which were wood and metal and then using the help of hardware we placed the elements at specific points of the cube which was to be designed. Then msde an isometric sketch of the final cube with all the written dimensions and elevations of the cube. With the help of screws, nut bolts and adjustment between materials the final cube was constructed.

In the exercise imaginative drawing my writeup was about a underwater egyptian civilisation which was to be shown in a graphical way, hence the ideation for pyramid, portal, the perspective of the frame was to be selected and the colour theme was selected frim the eriteup itself adding all the underwater elements with my frame chosen to be a 4 pt fish eye view which was then converted into final testing mediums, colour grades and the compilation of the writeup.

Pixelation of image and the topic given for time problem for colour theory was minimalistic and hence I used a monochromatic theme and simple light and shadow to be my final result.

The exercise for composing a graphical image of the artist, Katsushika Hokusai, was given. I first found the attributes frequently used in the astirst’s artwork, then identified the primary colour theme of the artist and on the basis of the design principle the artist used I created my final outcome.
