The Monsoon Semester of the CEPT Foundation Programme inculcates foundational design skills through sequential exercises focused on perfecting freehand and perspective drawing, visualizing and drawing complex compositions. Students learn to make technical drawings using orthographic projections, surface development and exploded views of complex objects; develop the skill of estimating sizes and begin to engage with anthropometrics. Ordering principles, colour theory, imaginative drawing and deciphering and interpreting styles help them develop more complex skills. Alongside, parallel exercises focus on describing objects and presenting their own work in writing, while guest speaker lectures offer exposure to other disciplines.

Freehand Drawings- subtracted solids, wireframe, rendering in composition, one and two point perspective composition

The first row second image and the second row first image shows the drafted plan, elevation, section and views of the matchbox composition, while the first row third image shows the model of a cube made from surface development. the last image shows the surface development of truncated pyramid.

How Things Work- the images here shows the different parts and the assembly of a measurement tape.

Deciphering Ordering Principles- the first image shows the understanding of ordering principles by using objects while the second image analyze the ordering principles used in the plan of the Kaufman house.

Color Theory

Interpreting Style- here in the first image is an analysis of a door while the second image has the object inspired from it. The third image is a poster designed for a talk by Dalai Lama. The second row first image is the understanding of a personality which in my case is Dalai Lama.

Imaginative Drawings- the first two sketches shows the process of the imaginative drawing while the last one is the final outcome.

Gauging Sizes- the first image in the first row shows the gauged dimensions and scaled drawing of a toothbrush. while the other two shows the kitchen and the toilet. the second row first image shows the door and the window with the sill height.

the first row first sketch is a live sketch of household objects while the other two are live sketches of some areas of my house. the second row first sketch is an imaginative sketch of alphabets.
